A little note before you start...

Your activity cards will give you everything you need to introduce each experience - but they’re a starting point, not a set of rules.

  • Your child might follow the activity exactly as suggested.
  • They might change it completely.
  • They might spend twenty minutes doing something you hadn't even considered.

That’s all part of the learning.

Follow their curiosity, ask questions, join in when invited and give them space to explore independently too.

There is no one right way to play.

Inside Your Summer Box

Inside your LittleSprouts Summer Box are seven hands-on activities designed to bring creativity, discovery, sensory play and movement to long summer days at home.

Little girl drawing on sea shell

Shell Painting

Decorate a real seashell with colourful acrylic markers, creating your own patterns, pictures and designs.

Play Tip: Try decorating with dots, stripes, waves or repeating patterns.

Little boy painting

Paint & Wash

Mix your own washable paints, then turn the bathtub or shower walls into a colourful canvas for creative play.

Play Tip: Experiment with mixing two colours together to see what new colour you can create.

Little girl creating a rainbow with paper

Tissue Paper Rainbow

Create a bright, textured rainbow by sticking colourful tissue paper squares onto your rainbow template.

Play Tip: Follow traditional rainbow colours or let your child create a completely unique colour pattern.

Little boy playing with ice

Frozen Ocean Rescue

Use warm water, a dropper and wooden hammer to melt and chip away the ice and rescue the hidden ocean treasures.

Play Tip: Ask your child to predict which method will free the treasures fastest.

Little girl painting

Sunscreen Painting

Paint a secret picture with sunscreen, place it in the sunshine and watch your artwork appear as the uncovered paper changes colour.

Play Tip: Try painting different shapes or patterns and compare which areas change in the sun.

Little boy playing with a balloon

Balloon Tennis

Make your own simple paddles, blow up the balloon and see how long you can keep it bouncing through the air.

Play Tip: Count each hit together and see if you can beat your highest score.

Little girl drawing on a paper bag

Summer Nights Lantern

Decorate your paper lantern with colourful markers and sparkling gems, then add the tealight and watch your creation glow.

Play Tip: Turn down the lights and use your lantern to create a cosy summer story time corner.
