Welcome to Your
Valentine's Day SproutBox!
A time for kindness, connection, and gratitude
Your SproutBox Valentine’s Day Box has been thoughtfully designed with hands-on, screen-free activities inspired by themes young children can truly understand - kindness, friendship, gratitude, generosity, and connection.
Each activity invites children to explore what it means to care for others through making, experimenting, and talking together.
This box helps your child experience Valentine’s Day as a celebration of helping hands, thankful hearts, and shared moments.
The activity cards guide you step by step, with a clear list of materials, simple instructions, gentle conversation prompts, and a short “What They’re Learning” note aligned to our 7 pillars of child development.
You can scan the QR code at any time to return to this guide - whether you’re looking for extra inspiration, safety tips, time guidance, or ideas to extend play and deepen conversations.

This guide supports both the Standard and Sibling Editions of the Valentine’s Day Box. Simply follow along with the activities included in your box and enjoy them at your own pace.
Your SproutBox is not designed to be completed all at once.
Many families choose to:
Spread the activities across several days or weeks
Repeat favourite activities
Adapt activities for different ages or abilities
Reuse materials for open-ended play
If you have the Sibling Edition, you’ll find extra materials included so two children can take part side by side. Children can work together on the same activity or create their own versions - both options support collaboration, communication, and shared enjoyment.
The intention is slow, meaningful play - allowing space for creativity, conversation, and connection, without pressure or timelines.
Set the Scene
Choose a calm, comfortable space - perhaps during a quiet afternoon, after school, or before bedtime. Keep the area uncluttered so the activity feels peaceful and unrushed.
Keep It Gentle
This box is designed to fit into real family life. Follow your child’s lead, adapt activities to their energy level, and remember that connection matters more than completing every step perfectly.
Be Present
Sit alongside your child and enjoy the moment together. Ask gentle questions, share stories, and model kindness, curiosity, and gratitude as you play.
Make Tidy-Up Part of the Ritual
Invite your child to help pack things away together once you’re finished. Keeping tidy-up simple and shared helps reinforce responsibility and closure.
Let Go of Expectations
Some days will feel busy, others slower - that’s okay. The value is in showing up, sharing time, and enjoying the process, not finishing everything.
Practice Patience
Allow your child time to explore, repeat, and discover at their own pace. Celebrate small efforts, small acts of kindness, and moments of focus.
Talk About It
Use the Discussion Ideas on each card to spark simple conversations about kindness, gratitude, helping others, friendship, and caring for family members.
Adapt With Care
Every child is different. Simplify activities when needed, or gently extend them when your child is ready - always meeting them where they are.
Every activity supports your child’s development through our 7 SproutBox Learning Pillars:
Movement & Coordination – strengthening little hands and fingers
Sensory Exploration – discovering textures, smells, and reactions
Creativity & Imagination – expressing ideas through art and play
Thinking & Problem-Solving – testing, trying, and experimenting
Language & Communication – naming, describing, and storytelling
Social & Emotional Development – taking turns and showing kindness
Independence & Confidence – exploring and creating on their own
